What is 21ˢᵗ century learning built upon?

Change is a part of our lives and our lives are changing even faster than before with the dawn of the new century. Like other things, learning and teaching methods have changed too. Methods of this era come into prominence with technology and student-centered approaches.
Technology is the first aspect of this century. It is perfectly normal because there is not even a day we spend without using tools invented in this era. Moreover, our generation will teach the kids who have used these tools since birth. It means this generation will have the ability to use technological equipment more than the last one. Terminologically speaking, they are digital natives and teachers should adapt their methods to the era if they are to keep up with them. The best way to do that is to provide the students the opportunity to use technology in the classroom.
Student-centered approaches are part of the last century, and they are still preferable compared to behaviouristic methods. However, the active participation of the student alone will not be enough. Unless schools are to be outdated, technology should be integrated into courses.
To sum up, 21ˢᵗ Century Learning is built upon active usage of technology by students in the classroom. To accomplish this technology should be integrated into the learning environment and we should use student-centered methods.
